February/March 2025 |
|
I’m expecting to hear the phrase ‘seven-year itch’ quite often in the coming weeks and months, as this March marks my husband and I’s seventh wedding anniversary! After ten years together though, I can’t see it really affecting us; he was forgetful 10 years ago, he still was seven years ago, and he certainly is now, so I guess that’s just him and after 46 years on the planet, he won’t be changing now! Ultimately, it’s the good, the bad and the ugly (you should see his choice in clothes!) that I signed up for. Love is blind and all that!
So, to this issue... we’ve got four gorgeous real weddings for you to be inspired by, all our couples have tied the knot at picture-perfect Surrey venues: Nutfield Priory, Millbridge Court, Ridge Farm and Gorse Hill. For more venue inspiration, we have features showcasing big-day venues in Waverely and Mole Valley, and those that are steeped in history.
Once you’ve found your wedding venue, you’ll need to think about how to decorate it, head over to page 57 where you can be inspired by 2025 trends; and a pièce de résistance at the reception will be your wedding cake, so we have some delectable designs you must see on page 61.
As always, we’re packed-to-the-brim with inspiration, advice, news, and offers, so I’m sure you’ll enjoy this issue as much as I've loved writing it.
Enjoy, and until the next issue...

Burningfold Manor
Burningfold Manor and its gardens are set within 300 acres of English rolling countryside; the drive splits into two and can be approached from both sides of the house. The extensive walled gardens showcase four areas: the rose garden with beautiful wisteria running along the wall, the secret garden home to Rhododendrons, the tennis court and lastly the swimming pool with stunning white wisteria adorned over the archway, all private and secluded.
The manor’s exterior offers an open-beamed look from the front door with gravel parking, a York flagstone patio and offers panoramic view over the 300-acre estate.
A beautiful 15th-century listed manor house, this historic property was originally a hunting lodge for Henry VIII. Having been extensively extended over the years there is an abundance of period features throughout including exposed oak beams, oak doors, open fireplaces, wood panelling, lead light windows as well as the original minstrel’s gallery. There are also two principal suites with a further five bedrooms and bathrooms.
For couples looking to tie the knot here, ceremonies take place in The Old Library for 60 guests, al fresco within the beautiful rose garden seating 120, or the bespoke marquee set between the stable bar and lined barn with a seating capacity of 180 loved ones.
Post-vows, receptions can take place across six striking areas comprising internal historic rooms, as well as outdoor spaces such as the walled gardens and patio around the lily pond. The indoor and outdoor options have a variety of capacities from 60 loved ones in The Old Library, to 180 in the marquee.
