How to style a marquee for a summer wedding

Q – Our summer wedding is fast approaching, and we’d love to incorporate the time of year into our marquee décor. Do you have any ideas of how to style the space?

"Whether you’re looking for a traditional British summer or something more exotic, there are plenty of ways you can incorporate the time of year into your special day. A colourful pastel theme or bold, bright colours will help you achieve these looks.

"Start with your tables and centrepieces. You could opt for a beautiful beach captured within a glass fishbowl with sand, stones and shells. 

"Place your favourite ice cream sundae in the centre of the tables on top of a martini glass made using fabrics and pompom sprinkles. 

"Why not share your love of travelling by incorporating photos of your holidays? Each table could be a different destination with a themed centrepiece, and the place cards could be personalised airline tickets.

"What’s more British than bunting? Pair it with traditional signage and candy stripe backdrops for your sweet cart.

"Wimbledon dominates most screens for two weeks every June, so add a nod to the summer staple by creating a strawberry and cream cart with all the toppings.

"Entertain the children with a separate play area with activities ranging from beach balls, sandcastles through to hopscotch and ring toss.

"Create a photo area with summer-inspired props such as buckets and spades, balls, umbrellas and a cardboard frame."
