Somersbury Barn in Ewhurst was recently announced as the Best National Event Venue in the Muddy Stilettos Awards 2024, just two years after launching. The 'Best of the Best' in each category were chosen by the editorial team across 28 counties.
Lucinda Watkinson, owner of Somersbury Barn said: "We are thrilled to have won this award and would like to thank everyone who voted, to take us through the Nationals. We are a young business and have been blown away by the support we've had and are incredibly grateful to be recognised in this way. We work with some amazing local suppliers and without them, this wouldn't be possible."
Lucinda, along with her husband, Sam have lovingly restored their 16th-century house, ancient barn and beautiful Victorian glasshouse, which stand on land once owned by Henry II in 1154. Set in 30 acres of ancient woodland, Somersbury Barn has been transformed into a magnificent event venue which now hosts weddings, birthday parties and other celebrations and has also been used for location shooting. Their Victorian, Foster and Pearson glasshouse offers a more intimate setting for private dinner parties and craft workshops.
Gemma Asua, who tied the knot with her husband Bosco on 16th July 2022, in the venue's first wedding said: "We are thrilled for Lucinda and Sam, as they thoroughly deserve this award. They worked so hard to put on the most incredible day for us, in such an idyllic setting. We couldn't have asked for more."
